Amsta is a project for the mentally and physically handicapped.It offers residential homes where people from ages 8-80+ are given as much support in their daily lives as needed.During the day, most of the residents visit day centres outside of the home, and they then return where they spend their evening. Volunteers here do everything from assisting with mealtimes, playing games with the residents and generally being available.

There is also a farm which is home to several animals including goats, rabbits and chickens. This gives the residents an opportunity to have contact with animals and have some fun! It is possible for volunteers to work in the farm.

A buddy programme is another opportunity, for one-on-one contact with a resident. This is a brilliant opportunity for both the volunteer and the resident, to learn from each other and to have fun together. For more information go to
